Feldene is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). NSAIDs are non-narcotic pain relievers that provide relief in case of injuries, arthritis, menstrual cramps, or other unpleasant musculoskeletal conditions. NSAIDs, in particular Feldene, block the enzyme, responsible for forming of prostaglandins (cyclooxygenase). Prostaglandins results different kinds of pain, inflammation and fever. Feldene is detected to be an effective remedy for treating inflammation, pain, and fever. This product was confirmed by FDA in 1982. Feldene provides decrease of pain, inflammation and fever.
Usually Feldene dose makes 20 mg taken once per day, or 10 mg taken twice per day. Do not take this product with food.
Feldene Safety Information
In case of missing a dose of Feldene, take it as soon as you remember to do so. However, if it's about time to take your next dose, skip the missed one and follow your regular schedule. Thus the next dose when it's time for it. Never take a double dose at once.
Keep Feldene protected from moisture, heat and light, at the room temperature. Keep this product in place inaccessible for children, away from pets. Do not store in the bathroom.
Use Feldene with caution, as this medicine may increase the risk of heart and blood vessels problems (in particular, heart stroke and heart attack). You should be treated with the smallest dose that provides positive effect, and for the shortest period of time needed.

Feldene Side Effects
Feldene may increase the risk of stomach/bowel problems, such as ulcers and bleeding. Use this medication with a special caution if you have to take this medicine for a prolonged time; if you are treating with corticosteroid medicines (e.g., prednisone) or "blood thinners" (e.g., warfarin); if you have poor health, drinking or smoking history. Strictly follow your health care provider’s prescription.
You should not take Feldene in case you have an allergy to any nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (such as Feldene, Naprosyn, Motrin, Daypro), to aspirin or any other medicine, that has aspirin among its components. Otherwise a severe allergic reaction such as hives, breathing discomfort, rash, vertigo may occur. Consult with your health care provider in case if you do not know whether you may have allergy to these medicines.
Stop Feldene usage and contact your doctor right away, if you experience swelling of eyelids, face, or lips; hives; rash; tightness in chest or breathing discomfort. Do not continue taking Feldene in this case, unless your health care provider advices this. Keep all doctor and laboratory appointments while treating with Feldene.
To control the therapy, you may require blood counts, liver and kidney function tests. The importance of such tests grows if you have to take Feldene for a prolonged period.
Feldene may cause sleepiness and vertigo, increased sensitivity to the sun. Avoid exposure to the sun before you know how you react to this medicine. In case if you have to spent much time under the sun, protect yourself with clothing (in particular, sunscreen or protective clothing).
Do not drink alcohol simultaneously with Feldene therapy, unless you talked it over with your health care specialist beforehand. Consult with your doctor about any other medicines you may take during the Feldene therapy, including non-prescription pain relievers and aspirin usage.
Do not drive, operate machinery or perform any activities, requiring high level of attention, before you find out your reaction to the Feldene.
Consult with a health care provider in case of pregnancy. Feldene is detected to cause harm to the fetus. Risks and benefits of taking this medication during the pregnancy and breast-feeding period should be closely discussed. Do not breast-feed while using Feldene. The absorption into the breast milk has not been researched.
Elderly patients can be more sensitive to the Feldene effects; they should be treating with this product cautiously. The risk of stomach or bowel effects (such as bleeding or ulcers), or kidney effects may occur.
The most common side effects of Feldene involve the gastrointestinal system. Feldene can cause cramping, nausea, gastritis, ulcerations, abdominal pain, and even serious gastrointestinal bleeding and liver toxicity. Stomach ulcerations and bleeding does not necessarily have to be associated with abdominal pain, these severe effects may occur with or without abdominal pain.
To decrease the risk of side effects, the lowest effective dosage should be used. Severe side effects are detected to occur mostly in cases of treating with high doses. In most cases Feldene and other NSAIDs provide effective therapy with few side effects.
Weakness, black tarry stools, and vertigo may be the only sympoms of abdominal bleeding. Also may occur kidney impairment, rash, tinkling in the ears, and light-headedness.
Feldene should be used only in case of doctor's prescription. Do not treat with this product other incidences. Do not share it with others. If you need a prolonged treatment, make sure you are provided with refills before your supply ends.
