Ultram is an effective pain-reliever. Please accept Ultram exactly in prescribed doses. If you think you need larger dose, please ask for your doctor’s approval. Do not take Ultram for longer period of time than it is prescribed.
If you forgot to take scheduled dose of Ultram, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the one you missed and go back to your regular schedule. Do not take two doses of Ultra at once.
Store Ultram in a tightly closed container at room temperature. Do not expose this and other medications to heat and moisture. It is extremely important to keep Ultram far from children and pets.
Ultram Safety information
Ultram is contra-indicated for people who have allergy to any of its components.
Ultram may cause dizziness or drowsiness. These effects may be increases by alcohol. Do not drink alcohol while taking Ultram. Also you should not drive a car or do any other potentially dangerous activities, especially requiring alertness until you know how Ultram affects you.
Do not accept Ultram, if you are taking Tegretol to avoid side effects.
Ultram may interact with some of medications. Tell your doctor about all medications you take. Furter there is a list of all medication that interact with Ultram. Study it carefully before using Ultram.
- Cyclobenzaprine (Flexeril)
- Drugs known as MAO inhibitors, including the antidepressants Nardil and Parnate
- Serotonin-boosting antidepressants such as Paxil, Prozac, and Zoloft
- Tricyclic antidepressants such as Elavil, Norpramin, and Tofranil
- Major tranquilizers such as Thorazine and Stelazine
- Narcotic pain relievers (Demerol, morphine, Darvon, Percocet)
- Promethazine (Mepergan, Phenergan)
- Quinidine (Quinidex)
- Sleeping pills (Halcion, Dalmane, Restoril)
- Tranquilizers (Valium, Xanax)
Avoid Ultram after taking large doses of sleeping pills such as Halcion, Dalmane, and Restoril; narcotic pain relievers such as Demerol, morphine, Darvon, and Percocet; or psychotherapeutic drugs such as antidepressants and tranquilizers.
Ultram Side effects
If you experience any side effects of Ultram, notify your doctor immediately. Only your doctor can determine if it is safe for you to continue taking Ultram. Luckily, Ultram does not provide side effects often and if they are present they are not severe.
The most common side effects of Ultram (Tramadol) include anxiety, agitation, bloating and gas, hallucinations, headache, indigestion constipation, convulsive movements, nervousness, sweating, tremor, diarrhea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, feeling of elation, itching, nausea, vomiting, weakness.
